Glasgow's Best Loved Music venue

King Tut's Wah Wah Hut

As Glasgow is my home city I thought it a good idea to share with you one of the best music venues Glasgow has to offer. Scotland is home to some of the world’s best music artists like Rod Stewart, Sharleen Spiteri, Anny Lenox and Lulu just to name a few of the fabulous singers who originated from Scotland.

All of these great singers are just a small portion of the great singers and bands that have played around Glasgow’s buzzing music circuit.

Top of the list and one of the most famous music venues in Glasgow is...

King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut

So much so the internationally recognised music magazine NME quoted the venue as “Quite possibly the finest small venue in the world” and quite rightly so.

King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut first opened its doors back in 1990 and has grown in strength and reputation ever since. The small 300 capacity venue in Glasgow’s St Vincent Street has been at the forefront of launching some of the UKs biggest bands over the last 20 years.

In fact! It was in this music venue where Alan McGee famously signed Oasis back in 2003. Other famous bands to have been launched from Glasgow’s premier music venue are The Verve, The Killers, Pulp, Biffy Clyro, Texas, Radiohead and the Manic Street Preachers.

King Tut’s music venue in Glasgow is so popular due to its unique atmosphere and brilliant Scottish audience that famous bands like Razorlight and Jamie T continue to ply their trade there. Former up and coming bands like Bloc Party, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs, The Stereophonics and Oasis have also been known to pop in for a pint and a jig before, or, after playing at larger music venues in Glasgow.

If you live in Scotland you know about King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut. If you live outside Scotland and like music then King Tut’s music venue in Glasgow is must visit should you ever visit the city.
